As the first peer-reviewed undergraduate journal dedicated to international science scholarship, The Journal of Young Investigators engages students in research, publishing, and creative science communication while fostering a culture of personal and professional development. JYI draws its staff from around the world and maintains a network of experienced mentors who provide in-depth advice throughout the scientific writing and reviewing processes

As Chief Technology Officer, I am responsible for the technological direction and resources of the Journal of Young Investigators. This includes overseeing and executing JYI's short and long-term technical goals, and the management of department staff and organizational technology needs. I also meet regularly with the Executive Board to demonstrate progress and vote on organizational decisions, provide regular reports to Executive Board and Board of Directors, and maintain my position handbook and other resources.

Responsibilites:

  • Leading the technology department of JYI, providing a vision for its future and establishing, planning, and executing requisite goals.

  • Maintaining and updating JYI's website, web applications, staff tools, and other technology resources.

  • Managing JYI's technology department which includes Software Engineers, Development Officers, and others.
