Software Engineer Intern @ Cyfirma

Cyfirma is a threat discovery and cyber-intelligence company with the world's first platform that can deliver predictive cyber-intelligence. They combine cyber intelligence with attack surface discovery and digital risk protection to deliver early warning, personalized, contextual, outside-in, and multi-layered insights.

Responsibilites:

• Collaborate with a seasoned security specialist in a mentoring capacity for 3 weeks, encompassing hands-on experience in forensic analysis, data gathering, digital risk assessment, and in-depth learning of fundamental cybersecurity principles.

• Spearheade the development of a highly efficient microservice aimed at automating network scans (TCP & SYN), host detection, and ping sweeps. Project implementation resulted in a notable ~40% reduction in human labor hours.

• Single-handedly pioneere the entire microservice comprising of roughly 1500 lines of Python code and Bash scripts.

• Integrate Apache Kafka into the project to enable message consumption and production within existing systems.
